AWARDED WORKS COMPOSITION COMPETITION IN MEMORY Yannis Papaioannou

The Union of Greek Composers wishing to honor the memory of the great Greek composer and its member Yannis A. Papaioannou, launched the 12th Composition Competition in his memory, which ended after an extension in February 2013.

30 compositions have been submitted, which then came to the crisis committee, comprised of distinguished composers and conductors.

The committee studied the works and awarded the following awards:

First Prize to Zampakli George for the project «String Quartet No 1.
Second Prize to Dova Christos for the work «Terminus» for string quartet.
Third Prize to Georgia Kalodiki on the project “Views” for flute and tape.

The Greek Composers’ Union will make every effort for the presentation and recording of the winning projects.
