H Ένωση Ελλήνων Μουσουργών (έτος ιδρύσεως 1931) έχει ως έναν από τους κύριους στόχους της την ανάδειξη και προβολή της σύγχρονης καλλιτεχνικής δημιουργίας στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό. Στο πλαίσιο της πρωτοβουλίας του διεθνούς φορέα Meta-Xenakis (https://meta-xenakis.org/) για τον εορτασμό της επετείου των 100 ετών από την γέννηση του Ιάννη Ξενάκη και ύστερα από πρόταση του Ομότιμου Καθηγητή του Ιονίου Πανεπιστημίου, Γραμματέα του Δ.Σ. και Διευθυντή του Κέντρου Ερευνών και Τεκμηρίωσης του Ωδείου Αθηνών Χάρη Ξανθουδάκη η Ένωση Ελλήνων Μουσουργών διοργανώνει τον διεθνή διαγωνισμό σύνθεσης Rethinking: Xenakis Composition Competition (Re:X). Στον διαγωνισμό καλούνται συνθέτες από όλον τον κόσμο, κάθε εθνικότητας και κάθε ηλικίας να δημιουργήσουν έργα μουσικής δωματίου αναστοχαζόμενοι τα επιτεύγματα του σπουδαίου δημιουργού.

Οι συνθέσεις που θα υποβληθούν θα κριθούν από διεθνή επιτροπή, η οποία θα επιλέξει τρία έργα για τα ισάριθμα βραβεία. Τιμώντας τα 100 χρόνια από τη γέννηση του Ιάννη Ξενάκη, ο Σύλλογος Οι Φίλοι της Μουσικής προσφέρει τα βραβεία του διεθνούς διαγωνισμού. Το Ionian Festival Ensemble θα ερμηνεύσει τα έργα που θα βραβευτούν σε ειδική συναυλία στο Μέγαρο Μουσικής Αθηνών στις 3 Οκτωβρίου 2022.

Meta–Xenakis

Το Meta–Xenakis μια αποτελεί διεθνή συνένωση ιδρυμάτων και φορέων με στόχο τον εορτασμό της επετείου των 100 χρόνων από την γέννηση μεγάλου Έλληνα συνθέτη και στοχαστή  Ιάννη Ξενάκη (1922-2001).

Η πρωτοβουλία ανήκει στην στενή συνεργάτιδα του Ξενάκη και προέδρου του CIX (Centre Iannis Xenakis) Sharon Kanach και ξεκίνησε με την συνεργασία μεταξύ των δύο φορέων που είχε ιδρύσει ο Ξενάκης, το CIX (διάδοχος του CeMAMU) στη Γαλλία και το ΚΣΥΜΕ (Κέντρο Σύγχρονης Μουσικής Έρευνας) στην Ελλάδα. Σύντομα προστέθηκαν και το Ωδείον Αθηνών, ο Οργανισμός Μεγάρου Μουσικής, Ο Σύλλογος Οι Φίλοι της Μουσικής/Μουσική Βιβλιοθήκη «Λίλιαν Βουδούρη», η Ένωση Ελλήνων Μουσουργών, το Ιόνιο Πανεπιστήμιο και το Γαλλικό Ινστιτούτο της Ελλάδας, και σε διεθνές επίπεδο, τα Xenakis Project of the Americas (ΗΠΑ), Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (Mεξικό) και Nagoya City University (Ιαπωνία).

Οι εκδηλώσεις, που θα διατρέχουν ολόκληρο το 2022, περιλαμβάνουν διεθνές υβριδικό συνέδριο, συναυλίες, εκθέσεις, διαλέξεις, σεμινάρια, ντοκυμανταίρ, διαγωνισμό σύνθεσης, κ.ά., και θα προβάλλονται από τον κοινό ιστότοπο (https://meta-xenakis.org). Εκτός από τις βασικές δράσεις που διοργανώνουν τα βασικά μέλη του consortium, στο Meta–Xenakis εντάσσονται και δράσεις συνεργαζόμενων φορέων.

The Greek Composers Union (est. 1931) has set as one of its main goals the promotion and wide dissemination of contemporary artistic creation in Greece and abroad. Within the scope of the international consortium Meta-Xenakis (https://meta-xenakis.org/) for the celebration of the centenary since the birth of Iannis Xenakis and after a proposal by professor emeritus of the Ionian University and Secretary General and Director of the Research and Documentation Centre of the Athens Conservatoire Haris Xantoudakis, the Greek Composers Union is organizing the international composition competition “Rethinking: Xenakis Composition Competition (Re:X)”. Composers from around the world, of any nationality and age, are invited to write chamber music works reflecting on the achievements of the great creator.

Compositions that will be submitted will be judged by an international committee, which will choose three works for the three prizes. Celebrating the 100th anniversary since the birth of Iannis Xenakis, the Friends of Music Society (https://sfm.gr/) offers the prizes for this international competition. The Ionian Ensemble will perform the three award-winning pieces at a special concert on the 3rd of October at Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall (https://www.megaron.gr/)

Meta–Xenakis

Meta–Xenakis is a jointly organized consortium of several institution that have come together to celebrate the centenary since the bith of the great Greek composer and thinker Iannis Xenakis (1922-2001).

The initiative belongs to the Xenakis close collaborator and president of CIX (Centre Iannis Xenakis) Sharon Kanach and it started with the cooperation of the two institutions that Xenakis established, CIX (the successor of CeMAMU) in France and KSYME – CMRC (Contemporary Music Research Centre) in Greece. Along with these, the consortium was joined by the Athens Conservatoire, Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall, The Friends of Music Society/Music Library of Greece “Lilian Voudouri”, the Greek Composers Union, the Ionian University, and Institut français de Grèce and on an international level Xenakis Project of the Americas (USA), Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (Mexico) and Nagoya City University (Japan).

The events that will be organized throughout 2022 include an international conference, concerts, exhibitions, talks, seminars, a documentary, a composition competition and others and they will be promoted through the common online portal https://meta-xenakis.org.
